Rockland Police K-9  

The Rockland Police K-9 Foundation is a Non-profit 501C (3) Organization. The K-9 Units Equipment, training, food, vets, and day to day operational expenses is all paid for by private donations.  A K-9 Unit can be costly to keep up and running and with always looming budget cuts this would be one of the first programs to go.  Officer Somers was able to start this Non-profit in December of 2005 and is an IRS recognized non-profit organization.  The K-9 unit expenses do not come out of the police budget and this ensures the much needed K-9 Unit to stay up and running.  The RPD K9 Foundation holds 2 fundraisers a year which the community comes together for a fun night out and makes donations to the K-9 Unit.  Check up-coming events page for future fundraisers.  If you would like to make a donation to the RPD K-9 Foundation to help us stay up and running Please make a check payable to the Rockland Police K-9 Foundation and send it to Officer Somers at the Rockland Police Station, 490 Market St. Rockland Ma 02370.   Thank you for your continued support!!!! see you at the next fundraiser...
